I'm an American League fan, so I really don't have a problem with the DH rule... but I know a lot of people who feel the way you guys do. There is definitely a lot more managing strategy involved when you have the pitcher batting. Obviously, Wang is an athlete and is capable of running... he was scoring from second, so maybe he was running with more intensity than normal for him, and that's how the injury occurred. I'm not saying it's not an injury that he wouldn't have gotten fielding, covering bases, etc. but when your an AL fan, and your pitcher gets hurt running the bases naturally your going to blame it on that. If Wang had laid down a better bunt, then they wouldn't have thrown to 3rd to get Jorge... they would've thrown to first and Wang would've been out. He was almost forced out at 2nd but Tejada couldn't handle the throw, so again he was stuck on base. They say everything happens for a reason, and I'd love to know the reason for my ace pitcher getting hurt and potentially ruining our season.
Now of course there's talk about trading for a pitcher such as CC Sabathia... which is fine by me... but who they are going to trade is what concerns me. There's talk about trading Melky Cabrera which I am very much against.... yes we have a bunch of outfielders, however Damon, Abreu & Matsui are all in their mid 30s.... Melky is only 24. I don't think trading away a good young outfielder is a smart move, but no one asks me.... LOL. My brother has no problem getting rid of Melky because he's not a power hitter, doesn't have a real high average, etc. I tried to explain to him when you have people in your lineup like Arod, Jeter, Posada, etc you can afford to have someone who's an average hitter... plus not everyone has the ability to be an ARod, Jeter, etc. but he wasn't having it. I guess we'll see what happens.
I thought the Yanks were one of the most dysfuntional teams, but the Mets certainly took that spot last night. I think it's horrible the way they treated Willie Randolph... firing him at 3 am?!?!?! I don't follow much of what goes on over there, but I know they weren't having a great year, and lately had some big losses... but can that all be blamed on the manager and a few coaches... I don't know. You also have to consider that maybe the players just aren't getting it done.. and that's hardly the fault of the manager. Whatever. I hope Willie gets another opportunity to manage some day if he wants to.

(BTW-I'm glad you've seen the hotness that is Brian Roberts, LOL

I love watching guys like Joey Votto, Johnny Cueto, Jay Bruce, Edinson Volquez, Brandon Phillips, Bill Bray, Jared Burton (my
new favorite reliever), and Edwin Encarnacion play because that's a huge part of the young nucleus that I hope bring winning baseball back to the Queen
City sometime soon. I still believe in my boys but right now, I'm just holding onto all the good things that the young ones do and all the experiences
they're racking up so they can be even better next year. They have a tough road trip coming up but I still believe in them! Go Reds!
at the curses of the hotel thing that Rita
put up. Some of those responses were hilarious! Very excited for Tino that he is going to be part of the All-Star team. Congrats to the Astros as well--keep it
up---but not too much up LOL!
)
Cubs got swept by the BayRays, Cards get swept by the KCRoyals---Cubs win 2 against CWSox, Cards win 2 against BoSox---we can't seem to make up those 3 1/2
games. It's ok, I'm sitting pretty after these two victories and I'm so proud of them for taking the series against the defending WS champions.
.....we really need a gag emoticon on here LMAO! The loss today was a total team
effort. They had their chances to win this game, but when Chris freakin Duncan comes around third on an Adam Kennedy double and does NOT slide into home plate
but chooses to plow into the catcher, I knew karma was going to come back and bite them and it sure did the next inning. A week to the date that someone did
that to Molina (that play was a clean play though, no bad baseball that took out Molina), you don't do that to another teams catcher----I don't care if
it is Boston LOL! I'm thrilled with 2 wins out of 3, and if I'm honest, it's more than I thought they would do in Beantown w/o Albert.
