About a week or two ago, she went to her doctor for her yearly physical and mentioned to him that she felt a lump in her breast (again, she never told mom anything... even with her being down there in May for 10 days.... again, mom was not happy)... she never noticed it until after she had fallen. So, he sent her to a breast surgeon for a consultation (her mother had died from breast cancer). She sent her for a mammogram, ultrasound (her yearly mammo in December was fine) and took her off one of her medications that they had put her on years ago for her osteoporosis (it's a form of Estrogen which the doc was not happy she was on with the family history of breast cancer)... she went back on Thurs. for the results, and there is something there.... she is having it biopsied tomorrow. It's an outpatient procedure that's done in the doctor's office... and sounds like the results will be available on Tues when she goes back for her followup (usually biopsies take a couple days, but she said they'll have the result on Tues). Please say a prayer that everything goes well... I'll definitely keep you guys updated.
